"My goal is to help people resolve the challenges in their lives by equipping them with useful tools and strategies, to help them develop a deeper understanding of who they are, and to help them feel empowered."
Daniela Ho Tan - Clinical Psychologist
B. Psych (Hons), MPsych (Clin), MAPS
I am a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about helping people develop a more profound understanding of their life experiences and to be able to move forward in their lives. It is important to me to create a safe, non-judgemental space for my clients and to work with them in a collaborative manner to develop our treatment plan. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” model and I think it’s extremely important from the first session to make sure that my approach and plan meets my client’s needs and expectations. My overall goal as a therapist is to help my clients empower themselves with different skills and techniques so that they can lead healthy, functional, enriched lives.
I work mainly with clients from adolescence to adulthood ranging from an individual capacity to families and couples. My personal therapy interest lies within the areas of anxiety and depression, attachment styles, complex trauma, career difficulties, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, emotion dysregulation and personality difficulties.
My therapy foundation lies within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, however I have a keen interest in Schema Therapy for which I have completed advanced training. I am also trained in Maudesley Family Based Therapy for eating disorders and have also done trainings in the following therapy modalities: Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and Gottman Therapy.
