Daniela Ho Tan – Clinical Psychologist

B. Psych (Hons), MPsych (Clin)

Hi I’m Daniela (Dani) and I am a clinical psychologist. I have been blessed to work for over 10 years in the field and am very passionate about helping people develop a more profound understanding of their life experiences. I was originally trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but the majority of my work is now in Schema Therapy and I am an ISST Advanced Accredited Schema Therapist (Individual). Additionally, I have completed training in the following modalities: Maudesley Family Based Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, and Gottman Therapy.

I recognise that not “one size fits all” so it is important to me to create a very safe, non-judgemental space for my clients and give them the opportunity to see whether I am a good fit. I like to work collaboratively and think it is extremely important from the onset to make sure that my approach and plan meets my client’s needs. My belief is that you are the “expert on you” and where I come in is that I provide you with the skills and tools to enhance your understanding of your personal experiences and to help you break any unhelpful cycles and to get “unstuck” from challenges.

I have experience in both the public and private sector and can work with various presentations, however, my main areas of interest are complex trauma, attachment and relationships (I do not practice couples therapy), dissociative disorders, anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, adjustment to parenthood and disordered eating/body image. I am also passionate about supporting health professionals’ mental health especially in reducing any stigma associated with help seeking (after all the carer also deserves to be cared for).

Currently I am focusing on my work with adults and no longer taking on adolescent clients due to my limited availability (especially as I do not offer outside school hour appointments).

My consultation days are: Monday and Thursday.

Fees from 1/07/2023 to 30/06/2024

Initial consultation
(75-90mins)
$375 business hours $412.50 after hours / weekends
Subsequent consultation
(50mins)
$250 business hours $275 after hours / weekends

Daniela is not currently taking on new clients and no longer taking a waiting list as she is reducing her clinical work to focus on research and supervision. We have several exceptional psychologists working alongside Daniela at Putney Psych Hub, please contact reception for more information. Alternatively, if you are a supervisee interested in Daniela’s supervision services please also contact reception.

“My goal is to help people resolve the challenges in their lives by equipping them with useful tools and strategies, to help them develop a deeper understanding of who they are, and to help them feel empowered.”
